CRITICAL PRE - PLANNING:

You will save more than -+R30 000 (depending on where you buy) if you put in ie: 7 lights off 6 watt per hour each burning for 3 hours in comparison to ie: 9 lights of 100 watt per hour each burning for 5 hours! Same principle with fridges..., buy ones lighter on wattage/energy;electricity and then put them on solar you will save panels and batteries...; energy in the long term, and still have savings in comparison to putting ie: these on the DEPENDANT grid: ie: electricity from the municipality (PS: and ''grid'' uses fossil fuels burned through coal resulting in hard metals (polution...) which are bad for the planet and for ie: people...)!(Anything can be used on solar power it depends on how it will be used, the book SOLAR ALL ABOUT discusses these all and more!)

In S.A there are lots of sun around about ONLY -+20 days without sun!

Before a solar system design can be done: sun panels, (''charge'') - controller, batteries, inverter... (picture to follow below) the following information must be gathered:

- The wattage on each appliance. (Wattages differ even if its the same thing, brand...).

- How long each and every appliance will potensially be used for. (Everybody uses appliances... differently).

- When it will be used day/night...; (Important in the renewable generation process/es).
The above is critical otherwise it will be difficult to generate the correct amount of power (electricity) if sun shines and doesnt shine.

Stove (heavy induction motors) and geyser ''elements'' etcetera... are normally not recommended to run through inverter etc, batteries...; solar; there are other practical solutions ie: special solar geyser with special thermal panel....; (The book Solar All About adresses these and more)!

(Normally all appliances (even eco friendly/same brand of appliances...) has different wattages/energy consumption therefore ANY design/s/quotation/s differs). (And everybody uses electricity differently ie: night/day/amount etc).
